Matt Denny- (Carthage College ’08)
Matt graduated from Griffith High School (2004) in Griffith, Indiana and earned a total of 7 varsity
letters. Matt was possibly the greatest kicker to ever come out of that area and the CCIW
conference. In high school Matt earned the titles of all-area (2003), all-area honorable mention
(2002), and has the Griffith football kicking records in kickoff average, season, and career.
Matt graduated from Carthage with a degree in Sports Management. While playing for the Red
Men, Matt was a 4-year starter at kicker (kick – off, field goals, extra points) for the CCIW
Conference championship team (2004, ranked 5th best team in nation). As the 4-year starting
kicker Matt owns kicking records for individual season (69 points scored , 12 field goals in 2007 ),
and the longest field goal (49 yards). Matt also has the individual career school record for field
goals (40) total points scored (248), and conversion points (128).
Throughout Matt’s career, he was the CCIW special team’s player of the week 5 times; he also
earned all conference honors three out of his four years (2004, 2X 2005, 2X 2007). In 2007 Matt
was named All North Region 1st team place kicker. He was also named special teams MVP by his
teammates two years in row (2006 & 2007). Matt also has the individual single game school
record with 3 field goals.
