Chris Leathers
Head Speed Coach/ Sport Specific Trainer
Chris Leathers is a 2004 graduate of Johnsburg high school.  While at JHS, Chris
participated all four years in football, basketball, and track and earned a total
of eight Varsity letters. The highlight of Chris’s high school sports career, was
leading Johnsburg to its first undefeated football season in school history.
Having an outstanding senior season as the team’s go to wide receiver, he now
holds every single season receiving record including most touchdowns (18),
most catches (74), and total yards (1308).  As a result of these numbers, Chris
received many honors including the following:

Big Northern Conference First Team
Northwest Herald All Area First Team
Chicago Tribune All State Football
5A Football Coaches All State
All State Football Illinois Super Team

As a track athlete, Chris excelled in the long and triple jumps winning Big
Northern Conference titles in both events. As a junior, Chris won the triple jump
title at the McHenry County Track Meet and qualified for the State Meet in the
4x400 relay. As a senior Chris was undefeated in the long jump, winning the Big
Northern Conference title, the McHenry County Track meet title and qualifying
for the State Meet.

Chris is now attending Carthage College and majoring in Business
Administration.  As a freshmen Chris started on the Carthage Red Men Varsity
football team at wide receiver. That year, Chris caught the longest pass for a
touchdown for the season.

When asked about his opportunity to work with Davis Speed Center, Chris
commented, “It’s awesome to get an opportunity to train and help out
athletes the same way Dave helped me.  I know first hand what Davis Speed
Center can do for an athlete.  Through specialized training, the Center can
offer an athlete of any age or ability level the opportunity to improve and
become the best they can be”.
